I started in the mountains and ended up in Carson City outside the courthouse. I want to thank the local police for escorting me today, well, not exactly escorting me, but they were watching me rather closely.  I am here for all people who have been wrongfully imprisoned, including a police officer who was cleared through DNA after 16 years of false imprisonment.  My reason is to help all people that our system fails, either because of laziness, overzealousness or otherwise.  I especially want to thank the area media.  This is a national story and I applaud their recognizing the importance of this issue.  Nevada is just one of 28 states where there is no compensation for people who have been wrongfully convicted.  I would urge the citizens of Nevada to get together and enact a compensation system for the victims of wrongful imprisonment.  Innocent Man Walking is here to help people who have been wrongfully imprisoned and we need donations now to help.  We especially are seeking major donors.  We are concerned that we will have more people requesting assistance than we have funds.  It takes a lot of assistance, for housing, counseling, job training and more to help a person get back on their feet after a period of incarceration.
