Goodbye California - Hello Nevada (20.24 miles today)

Hello Nevada - one of the 28 states that does not compensate it's citizens after a wrongful imprisonment. I began my day in Meyers California on a snowy/rainy/icy/windy day.  It was an 8 1/2 hour day.  The gusts were up to 40 mph - it was all I could do to hang on to BOB let alone steer and push him down the road.  Sometimes he was steering me and sometimes I was steering him going down the mountainside.  While going through South Tahoe, I experienced another dog incident.  A very big black and white pitbull lunged across 5 lanes of traffic, making BOB and myself very nervous.  We were hoping one of the cars would take him out, but he made it, lucky for Bob and I.  As it turned out, he was a very nice dog and when he got to us he was wagging his tail.  He was scary, but very friendly.  I looked around for the owner, she eventually came out of a pet shop with her purple hair and said, "I don't know how he got out of his cage."  Note, I then noticed that the dog also had purple fur in the middle of his forehead.  We then had a great interview with one of the local press.  Welcome to Nevada - through a cave (I waited for a traffic break and then just ran through, I had two of BOB's tires on the curbside of the tunnel and one hanging off as cars flew by honking.  The rest of the day was spent basically climbing straight up 7,000 feet.  There are no walkways, there is about 3 foot of space between the railing and the white line.  Picture two lanes of traffic coming at you at 60 - 80 mph.  I was particularly surprised to see the "Bear Crossing - Next 4 miles" signs.  I will update you on this at a later date.  Right now I'm a bit concerned because Roseann is leaving on Saturday and there is a 49 mile stretch of nothing between Carson City and the next town over.  Since I only average about 22 miles a day, this leaves me a little short.  Please contact us at roseannlaw@hotmail.com with any help you can provide.
