18.01 Miles Up Down & Up Again!

A Great day - beautiful weather and wonderful people. I started out West of Placerville, went through Placerville and ended up East of Placerville at an elevation of 3,000 feet.  I met so many great people along the way and truly discovered that they are all supportive of what I am doing.  From the Press to the El Dorado County Public Defender's office to the guys at Golden Spoke Bike Shop.  Thanks to Rufus and Brett for the tubes for BOB (my Ironman running cart) and the exacting directions to get me quickly and easily through these mountain passages.  I also learned that one of the mountain passages for about 20 - 30 miles is closed due to heavy snow that is still present.  Therefore, I will verify how many miles this is and will make this up - I'll report back on that tomorrow.  I will still need volunteers to pick me up from my stopping point, transport me to my hotel and bring me back in the morning to begin again where I left off.  Contact us at roseannlaw@hotmail.com or 219-916-8554.  Thanks to all!

You are up in my territory… Glad to see you are back on track… We are with you…like they say…. one day at a time… I bet (10 cents) that you will be in such good shape by the time you get through Nevada…the rest will be just routine…. We are with you… you are doing the sweat…and we are doing the prayers…

Mr. Ivanovich,
I hear an update on your progress everyday, from Charlotte, i am always reminded to leave you a message on your website. I hope i am doing this correctly, i’m not sure if i was to post somewhere else, but as long as you get the message i will be happy. I am so glad you run/walk/journey is going well for you. I find myself asking how a person could physically and psycologicaly stand walk/running that far, and the only answer i can come up with is something i have learned in the sport of rowing, and that is: “We train for an event such as a 4000 metre boat race, or a 3000 mile run, and we think the distance is a long and painful one to overcome. But the truth is, when your heart and spirit are at the same place, and helping you strive for your goal, the metre/miles go by faster than you could imagine.” Im sorry it took so long for me to write. We are cheering for you!
best of luck,
John L.
