Finally Out of the Mountains & on Flat Land
I ran 21 miles today - Watch for Picture Posting in the Near Future!
I started out in the St. Helena Mountains. I ran through passes with warning signs for falling rocks and along a lake and a babbling brook. I saw pine cones on the road the size of soccer balls. I finally descended the mountain and ran past orchards full of flowering trees. The scent of flowers was amazingly overpowering. I then came into a town where people have oranges growing in their front yards! It's amazing to contrast this to back home where it's cold and snowy. Tonight I also want to say thank you to the many people who wave and stop and say hello. It slows me down a bit, but it's so great to have the overwhelmingly positive support. It's also amazing to have the freedom to enjoy this abundant beauty while others sit in cells and are unable to walk freely. As I go to sleep tonight, I will meditate and pray for those who should not be behind bars. I will pray for those who are in prison either because of mistaken identities or the vindictive actions of others who have placed them where they should not be. I will pray for those who have been released without support, that they may find their way in life. And, I will pray that Innocent Man Walking will have the abundance to help all who have been released and exonerated.
